5S / VISUAL WORKPLACE

5S provides a systematic methodology for organizing, cleaning, developing and sustaining a productive work environment free of waste and barriers to productivity. Visual controls support 5S by standardizing where things go and making everything visible. While these are seemingly intuitive concepts, busy organizations do not always take the time to ensure 5S and visual controls are part of their formula for success. The benefits of achieving and maintaining a clean and orderly workplace are well documented and include reduced lead time, increased employee morale and ownership, time for more value-added activities and, ultimately, increased customer satisfaction.
