ERROR PROOFING

Error proofing techniques prevent defects by monitoring process conditions that would otherwise lead to problems. There is a logical, chronological sequence of events from process errors to product defects. Error proofing along this sequence ensures a high-quality end result. By monitoring errors at their starting point, defects can actually be prevented. While Statistical Process Control (SPC) can indicate a quality confidence level, error proofing is much more robust because it is a control for every part produced (100% control) versus a representative sample of the product.

This workshop is applicable to those directly involved with product production. Working in small cross-functional teams, participants will apply error proofing methods to their actual work process or a selected problem.

The workshop is typically delivered in two days but can be conducted in one day if the participants have significant prior exposure to root cause problem-solving and/or Process FMEA.
